Spring Concert 'Music in May'

On the evening of Tuesday 9 May, we held our spring concert ‘Music in May’, which was a huge success.

We heard performances from our school ensembles, such as the Orchestra, the Minstrels, Chamber Choir and the Year 7 Choir. The programme also included solo vocal and instrumental items from students across the year groups, ranging from classical to pop and musical theatre, as well as classical duets and band performances of popular songs. The Minstrels opened the concert with a medley of songs from “The Lion King” and the orchestra started off the second half with “The Blue Danube” and a swing piece. The Year 7 Choir performed a cover of the song “One Call Away”, the Chamber Choir performed a Capella versions of “Amazing Grace” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, while the solo and duet items provided a real taste of many different musical styles.

The atmosphere in the Oaks theatre was buzzing, and it was clear that both the audience members and the performers were having a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The performers continue to develop in both musical skill and confidence with each concert that we put on, and it was fantastic to see so many different students from different year groups involved in music at the school.

A huge congratulations goes out to all of the performers, it is clear that there is such an eclectic mix of musical talent at Knole Academy.
