Parents' Association Quiz night
10 tables fought out a close battle of quizzing last Friday at Knole. Parents, grandparents, teachers, friends and a team from Independent Catering all had a great evening, with Mr Challenor once again acting as quizmaster. Rounds, which ranged from musicals, to catch phrases, to the world cup and the first line of books, really tested the teams' knowledge.
Tony Woodgate, a prominent member of the Parents' Association, held a mini auction during the interval. Lots for tickets to Leeds Castle, Hever Castle, golf at Lullingstone and, unusually, a bottle of House of Commons wine signed by Teresa May. Thanks to Tony’s auctioning skills £189 was raised from the lots.
A raffle, including a case of red wine generously donated by our cleaning company ‘Birkin’, added even more flavour to a fun evening.
Congratulations to the winning team, Darwin’s Darlings, captained by Mrs Righeleto and ably assisted by Mrs Cutting, who excelled in the literary round.
The evening raised a total of £400, which will go towards enhancing students’ learning at Knole.
Look out for next year’s event and come along with friends.
