Knole students enjoy golf lessons at Knole Park Golf Club

Golf continues to grow at Knole Academy with 10 beginners enjoying free lessons at Knole Park Golf Club.  It is great to see how the whole group have progressed this term and I hope that they all take advantage of the incredible summer membership package on offer to them.  Many thanks to Knole Park Golf Club, the Studley Trust and to Callum for his fantastic teaching each week.

This term we entered 2 experienced teams into the Kent Team Championships hosted by Tenterden Golf Club.  Both teams played well on a course, where the pins were set in very challenging positions.  With only a single group left on the course, both of our teams led in the clubhouse, surely they couldn’t be beaten.

We all eagerly waited for the scores to be entered, to find one of the boys in the final group had shot 48 stableford points, which is something like 12 under his handicap!! On a day where the next best score was only a few under, it is fair to say that our boys felt a little hard done by having to settle for second position.  It was an incredible round of golf, given the conditions.  Well played.

Golf continues to become more and more popular at Knole Academy.  If you play golf, or you are interested in learning more, please come and speak to me in the PE Department.
