“Elissa wins the Snow Award” on the 2019 Knole Academy Austria Ski Trip!

The famous resort of Salzburger Sportwelt, one of Europe’s premier ski destinations, played host to the 2018 Knole Academy Ski extravaganza.

Exceptional skiing for all abilities was provided on superbly groomed slopes. The sheer expanse of the ski area meant that our students were offered the opportunity to overcome new challenges every moment of their six days “en piste”. Once our beginners mastered the basics, the lift and bus system carried them across the 850km ski area to experience some of the best skiing in Austria. Heading from Alpendorf to Wagrain, the magnificent piste of the Grafenberg Mountain put a smile on everyone’s face - the stunning views of the Dachstein Glacier were simply amazing. Home of the legendary Herman “The Herminator” Maier, which in itself is a testament to this wonderful ski area, our students conquered their fears and finished the week with a clear sense of achievement. The “Mr/Miss Snow” trophy, awarded for a combination of great skiing, consideration of others, being courteous of nature and affable of character, went to Year 10 student Elissa who thoroughly deserved the ultimate Knole Academy skiing accolade. Second and third place went to Zac and Jude respectively. All 62 students on tour were an absolute credit to their school. If you’re one the 40 students on the Killington, USA ski trip in April, or if you fancy joining us on the Austria 2020 ski trip, you’re in for a fabulous time!
