Knole Academy Website
"Good and rapidly improving". This is how OfSTED judged Knole Academy in November 2012, after only one year and one term of having all our students on one site. We know that we are now even better. Historically, much was made of the boys and girls merging into one school but we are confident that the academy's high standards of academic work, excellent pastoral care and superb behaviour are second to none. The team at Knole Academy has a huge amount of experience - in senior leadership, in teaching and in pastoral care. We pride ourselves on the fact that OfSTED were effusive with their praise. We value every student no matter what their ability, we challenge them all to be ambitious and conscientious, resilient and aspirational in their thinking. With our sponsors, Gordon Phillips, Sevenoaks School and Kent County Council, our vision is to foster an engaging learning ethos, using state-of-the-art technologies to develop new skills and create high aspirations for our students for their academic achievement both for their time in school and for their future lives.
Hot on the heels of a successful Science Week, Knole Students tested their metal in a robotics competition and triumphed with their superior machine.
This year we have been focussing on STEM in science week. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and maths, and is a major focus for future careers in this country.
The school council were invited to help out at this annual event in London, celebrating some of the oldest skilled trades including blacksmiths, saddlers, bakers, masons, calligraphers, basket-makers, and chandlers, to name but a few.
We were delighted to welcome Gold Medallist Lizzie Yarnold to Knole Academy as part of her celebration tour of Sevenoaks District.
Over the next few weeks, staff are being shown around our new buildings. Although work is not yet finished, tour groups are getting a real sense of how amazing the facilities will be. Read more.....
